Why Silence Between Sirens exists

Silence Between Sirens is a suicide prevention cause for emergency services personnel, built by people who have lived the thing it exists to change.
Emergency services personnel are dying by suicide. It is not rare, and it is not confined to one service or one region. Yet there is no consistent national record of it, no clear line of accountability, and no duty on any service to act. The silence around it is part of the problem.
We are here to break that silence. To make it safe to speak up early, before breaking point. To make sure the people around someone struggling know what to do. And to work with services on the system that puts people at risk in the first place - what we hold together as Community, Care and Change.
We are at the start, and honest about that. Building connections, having the conversations that usually do not happen, and linking people to support that already exists while we build what does not.
If this matters to you - whether you serve, lead, support or have lost someone - be part of changing it.
