A month of saying difficult things out loud

A flat line breaking into a sound wave beneath the words The silence only holds while no one breaks it

A month of saying difficult things out loud. Here is where it points.

Everything we have written this month comes back to one idea: no one in the emergency services should be left to carry this alone, and almost always, there is a point where reaching someone was still possible.

Making that real is not a one-organisation job. It takes people in a lot of different places:

  • The person who follows our page and shares a post, so it reaches someone who needed it.
  • The colleague who starts asking “how are you actually doing”, and means it.
  • The wellbeing lead or manager who moves this off the margins and onto the table.
  • The service willing to look honestly at what it does not yet know.
  • The partner, funder or organisation who wants to help build what does not exist yet.

Wherever you sit, there is a way in. The next step is not complicated. Follow along. Share what rings true. Start one honest conversation. Or get in touch, if you want to do more.

We are early, and there is a long way to go. The silence only holds while no one breaks it. This month, a lot of people did. Thank you for that.

You do not have to be at breaking point to reach out.

Silence Between Sirens is not a crisis service. These lines are free and there for you now.
